mission

The mission of Open Hearts Place (OHP) is to provide homes and purposeful opportunities for families to increase life goals, gain stability, and become more self-sufficient.

Goals

OHP's focus is to facilitate a stable environment where families can transform their lives permanently. In order to meet our goals we will:

o  Provide intermediate housing for families until they are ready to move to their next best step
o  Empower families to overcome current barriers that inhibit financial, emotional, and social stability
o  Provide individual and family development coaching, as part of their structured action plan(s)
o  Encourage a nurturing support system through the development of informal supportive relationships
o  Serve as a bridge to applicable community resources (health, career, etc.)

design

OHP's programs will help create solid foundations that support responsible futures for families in our program. To start, we will provide families, whose adult members are currently employed (low income) and already working toward self-sufficiency, places to live as they move their lives in a positive direction. Our approach, which is unique and driven by accountability, will help families find complete and sustainable solutions. Though not all-inclusive, this approach may include mental health services and treatment, substance abuse treatment, employment counseling, job training, parenting classes, and community building activities and events. The result will help to transform lives and communities by integrating more solid and stable families.
