By providing affordable rental housing and programming to address the root causes of a struggling family’s instability, we help them move from shared housing with family or needing subsidized housing to improving their financial situation and creating generational wealth through homeownership.
And the best part? Because the whole family is in the Open Hearts Place program, we are facilitating this change two generations at a time!
Here are examples of what your gift can do.
- $250 provides enrichment opportunities for a family.
- $500 provides one month of enrichment opportunities like tutoring, sports and the arts for the children in our program.
- $750 provides education and skills building for a working parent.
- $1000 contributes to case management services for working families.
Help Build Open Hearts Place homes in Hildebran Switch
In 2024, Parallax Development Group donated six acres of land, and we began to envision the Hildebran Switch community as the next iteration of our commitment to transforming the lives of Burke County residents who want a brighter future for themselves, their families, and future generations but cannot yet imagine a path toward homeownership.
Within Hildebran Switch, Open Hearts Place will build and keep three homes to expand our program to a total of nine homes so we can serve more low-income families.
We estimate it will cost $650,000 to build one 2 bedroom/1 bath home and two 3 bedroom/2 bath homes. Your gift will help make these homes a reality for families in our community who are ready to work towards financial stability.
